In 2005 I produced this feature on fairy tales. Dr. Baker-Sperry wrote an article in 2003 that claims fairy tales are sexist and dangerous to read to our children–reinforcing gender and racial stereotypes. However, Dr. Vigen Guroian sees incredible value in their ability to teach strong moral lessons–lessons that are often lost in today’s retelling of these important stories.
