A Large Family, courtesy of the Library of Congress
The size of the average American family has been steadily declining over the last 200 years. In 1800, the average family had 8 children. Now, its down to 2 per couple. This feature highlights two families that have choosen to reject this trend and acknowledge God’s jurisdiction over the womb and see children as a blessing from Him. Chuck Mellas (father of eleven) and Andrew Fletcher (father of eight) are my guests.

This was wonderful! Thank you for sharing this. We have four children, desire more, but have had eight miscarriages since our fourth was born. I agree that it is not the number of children you have that is important, rather it is the attitude you have towards them that is. It is sad that for many Christians, they love babies as long as they are in someone else’s womb–what a sad comment from a government official!
