Martha Stewart Living, Home and Garden TV and the Food Network are just three of the many multi-million dollar organizations that exist to teach us all the best ways to entertain. Unfortunately, while many of our homes are picture perfect and our tables set with amazing displays of culinary skill, we seem to be spending less time in true fellowship with our homes or around our tables. This feature with authors Alexander Strauch and Dr. Patricia Ennis explores the need to rediscover the Christian practice of hospitality.

I just finished reading “Practicing Hospitality” by Drs. Ennis & Tatlock. The book itself was hospitable. I expected to feel guilty about all that I wasn’t doing, instead I was encouraged by all that I am currently doing that I didn’t realize fell into the category of hospitality. Reading the book was as intersting and insightful as being in the home of someone who has the gift of encouragement. Many great ideas with taste and balance. This book would be a terrific gift for any Christian woman you know.
