The book of Acts, like the gospel of Luke, is written to someone referred to as: “most excellent Theophilus.” There are many differing explanations of who this may be—one common suggestion is that he is some sort of Roman official.

This feature is a conversation with John Mauck, a lawyer who believes Theophilus was a legal official in Rome, which leads him to conclude that the book of Acts is actually a legal brief.

In 1963 Harry Blamires published his classic book entitled: The Christian Mind. His opening words are memorable, he writes: “There is no longer a Christian Mind.”

In the 46 years since, Christian philosophers, theologians and scholars have fought to recapture lost ground. I recently had an opportunity to sit down with three theology professors from the Moody Bible Institute to talk about the issue of “Christian scholarship.”

Atheists claim that God doesn’t exist.  Many, like Richard Dawkins attempt to use science to support their claim.  In response, many Christians have pointed to creation as evidence for design, which infers a designer or ultimate cause.  This in turns often leads the Atheist to ask: “So who made God?” It’s a challenging question; Dr. Edgar Andrews helps us answer this question.

In John chapter 17 Christ prays for his disciples and the future church that “they would be one as He and the Father are one.” The Apostle Paul often prayed that the church would be “humble and like-minded.” Unity is an important mark of a healthy church, both locally and globally.

Over the last month, many stations across the Moody Network have been involved in a fund-raising campaign with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  The Last Languages Campaign seeks to introduce the Word of God into the remaining 2400 languages of the world.

Once a translation has been completed there are many ministry partners who come along side Wycliffe to see these translations get into the hearts and minds of a community.  One such ministry partner, Faith Comes By Hearing.  Morgan Jackson is the ministry’s Director.
