This feature with Don Hillebrand, Director of Argonne’s Center for Transportation Research takes a look at how hybrid technology may be an excellent solution to our nation’s fuel crisis.

  1. This was very interesting since we live in a, primarily, golf cart community. Granted you’re talking different types of batteries, I think but batteries do have drawbacks other than just the distance factor. Relatively speaking they have no get-up-and-go; they slow down up inclines. You can’t just punch the gas pedal and get a boost of energy. I would be interested to know if that factor is compensated for somehow in these lithium ion car batteries. Also, the batteries drain *much* faster and work much slower in cold weather. Do the lithium ion batteries do the same? Very interesting show!
