Sample Family Tree Chart

Each summer, millions of American families get together for weddings, family reunions, and picnics. At most such events, it is not uncommon to see the older segment of the family gathered around a table, pouring over memories. This feature is on this important family occurrence, and includes helpful tips for the beginner family historian. My thanks to my Father-in-law Michael Baker and Jack Simpson of the Newberry Library for thier role in this feature.

Storycorps has designated Friday, November 28 as the “National Day of Listening,” encouraging families to conduct oral histories conversations with someone in your family.  For more information, click here.
