Many of the elements seen in the inauguration of President Obama have a rich history. From being sworn in by placing a hand on the Bible to tomorrow’s prayer service at the National Cathedral, many of the traditions around this day began at the first inauguration. This piece features Dr. Peter A. Lillback (President of the Providence Forum) and Stephen McDowell (President of the Providence Foundation) takes a look at our first President and his inauguration.
