On March 1st, 1562, the French Wars of Religion began in Vassy, France, with the first of many attacks against French Protestants. Over the next one hundred and twenty years the French Huguenots faced intense seasons of persecution for their protestant views.

This feature takes a look at this difficult chapter of Church History and how God used it for His glory with Joe Frazer (Head of the History Department at Judson College, Marion, AL) and Dr. Joseph Morecraft (Historian and Pastor of Chalcedon Presbyterian Church, Cummings, GA).

If you’d like to read an english translation of the book mentioned by Dr. Morecraft: Vindiciae Contra Tyrannos, click here.

Also, Dr. Morecraft has posted 56 sermons and lectures on the history of the Reformation on SermonAudio.com.  They are available to listen to for free here.

Finally, Dr. Morecraft has offered a free copy of his book: The Reformation of the West: From the 1st Century to the 18th.  You can reach Chalcedon Presbyterian Church at (770)205-9390 and request your copy.
