According to the most recent census from the American Veterinary Medical Association, there are more than 282 million pets in America. Of that number, 72 million are dogs and 82 million are cats; while birds, rabbits, and turtles round out the top-five pet populations.

Most pet owners do a pretty good job of feeding and caring for their animals, but one organization in Chicago is working to better educate pet-owners on the importance training plays in the lives of a healthy pet. This piece features Ken Ramirez, Senior Vice President of animal collections and animal training at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
