Making Maple Syrup

Maple Syrup is a uniquely North American staple.  Made from the sap of the sugar maple tree, this pancake topping has been produced on this continent for hundreds of years. As spring comes into full swing, maple syrup producers throughout North America are tapping trees and bringing this enticing amber elixir to our tables to the delight of young and old alike.

Last weekend I spent a day with Bob and Jan Dahl, hobby maple syrup producers. This report takes a look at the labor intensive process.
