In Titus 2, the Apostle Paul sets out a model for discipleship ministry in the church—of the older men and women instructing the younger. Too often today, we don’t seek out the counsel and instruction of those older and wiser, and we are weaker for it.

This feature comes from a recent conversation I had with Scotty Smith, Pastor of Preaching, Teaching and Worship at Christ Community Church in Franklin, TN. He speaks about the lessons he has learned over his life of ministry and how he hopes to finish well.

His article “The Genuine Life” was published in the June 2009 edition of Table Talk Magazine.
